    Not content to be the fastest Aussie on Earth, Rosco McGlashan OAM (Order of Australia Medal) is aiming to take the World Land Speed Record (WLSR) – which would make him the fastest man on Earth. The current WLSR stands at 763.035 MPH (1227.985 KPH). McGlashan has the ultimate goal of exceeding 1,000 MPH (approximately 1,600 KPH).

    McGlashan’s bold venture is based in Western Australia, where it came to the attention of PPG’s Western Australian refinish team, led by Brad Curtis.

    PPG is part of a supporter group that backs McGlashan’s Aussie Invader 5R. PPG’s support ensured that the 52.5-foot-long (16-meter) car got a stunning paint job. Deltron® basecoat and Delfleet® Evolution primers, clearcoat and direct gloss coatings were applied by long-time PPG customer, Parins Truck and Machinery Repair Specialists, in Perth.

    This incredible machine, weighing in at more than 10 tons (9.2 tonnes), is powered by a single rocket motor that produces 62,000 pounds of thrust (around 200,000 horsepower) and is capable of accelerating from 0 to 1000 MPH in just 20 seconds.
