東方雨虹李衛國：置之死地而後生（中英雙語）

茫茫塵世，悠悠歲月，有幾多巍峨豐(feng) 碑？

成功者，寥若晨星；失敗者，似一江春水。

How many people can be remembered in this vast world and its long history?

The numberof successful people issmall, and that of failed people is numerous.

世間之人，上至帝王將相，下及布衣白身；高明者如聖人大賢，愚魯者如荒野村夫，誰無挫折失敗？君不見蘇秦空有博古通今之略，安邦定國之誌，也曾報國無門窮困潦倒；韓信身負經天緯地之才，掃蕩四方之願，亦橫遭胯下之辱。故人生多波折，難有坦途。

All living people, from kings and generals to ordinary people, from saints to peasants, must have experienced setbacks and failures. For example, Su Qin, an influential political strategist during the Warring States period of ancient China and known for his strategy and ambition, had the time of not being appreciated, having no means to serve his country, and living in poverty; Han Xin, a talented, learned and ambitious military general who contributed greatly to the founding of the Han dynasty, was also once humiliated by a butcher when he asked Han to crawl under his crotch. We can learn from the stories that life is full of ups and downs.

人生如此。經營企業(ye) 亦如是。懦弱者痛苦迷茫，彷徨畏縮，而強者卻堅持不懈，緊追不舍。今日此時，環保行業(ye) 已至極寒時刻，無法避免的蒼涼之態冷峻且殘酷。高能環境置身其中，依然在苦苦煎熬、經曆萬(wan) 千風雨。

但，我們(men) 窮且益堅,從(cong) 未墜青雲(yun) 之誌。因為(wei) ，我們(men) 時刻警醒明白，人生之榮光，不在永不失敗，而在永不言敗、屢敗屢起。你曾經跌落過的深邃穀底，往往能變成日後重生的深厚基礎。

Life is never easy, so is business operation. The feeble are miserable and can be easily lost, yet the determined can overcome all obstacles and persevere. At present, given the fact that the environmental protection industry is in an adverse place, which is desolate, grave and cruel, BGE, honed by difficulties, is still fighting against all odds, and never abandons its ambition.

We are alerted and aware that the highlight of life is not being capable of avoiding failure, but never giving up nor admitting to be defeated. Every failure is a lesson.

縱覽寰宇，越王勾踐受盡羞辱，二十年臥薪嚐膽，三千越甲終滅吳；“發明大王”諾貝爾甘冒危險，數百次敗而不餒，讓移山填海終成現實。反觀自身，高能環境成為(wei) 公眾(zhong) 企業(ye) 以來，幾多浮沉，幾多唏噓，從(cong) 未歲月靜好，一直在戰天鬥地，絕境求生。

Looking back to the history around the world, we can see that nothing is impossible once someone perseveres: Gou Jian, king of the Kingdom of Yue, slept on brushwood, savored both humiliation and bile for 20 years, and finally defeated the Kingdom of Wu; Alfred Nobel, a prestigious inventor, risked his life for inventions, never stopped when the newly invented did not work, and made impossible possible. For BGE, it has experienced difficulties since the day it became a public enterprise. The BGE is never standoffish or content, and is always insisting.

古語有雲(yun) “善勝者不陣，善陣者不戰，善戰者不敗，善敗者終勝。”投之亡地而後存，置之死地而後生。至陰則陽現，否極則泰來。

我們(men) 始終堅信，高能環境眼前之困境並非一敗塗地，而是一種新生與(yu) 希望，是勇敢者的獨有勳章，亦是通向成功之路的墊腳之石，我們(men) 雖敗猶榮。隻要敗不惶餒、進而不退、秉持定力、重複博弈，絕處亦能逢生，逆境亦將成功。

An ancient saying goes: the one who wins will not fight, the one who is a good fighter will not participate, the one who is good at participating is undefeated, and the one who loses well will win. To the utmost Yin, the Yang will appear, and to the deepest misfortune, the bliss will come.

We always firmly believe that BGE is not experiencing a complete failure, but a kind of new life and hope, a unique medal for the brave, and a stepping stone to the road to success. Although we are defeated, we are glorious. As long as we are not discouraged in defeat, continue to make progress, have determination, and keep trying, we can survive the desperate situation and succeed in adversity.

旦複旦兮，日書(shu) 其華。大丈夫行事，論順逆，不論成敗；論萬(wan) 世，不論一生。全體(ti) 高能人當不為(wei) 一時成敗所困，以無垠時空為(wei) 丈量尺度。讓我們(men) 以青衿之誌，履踐致遠；攜時光作渡，奮鬥成書(shu) 。當朝日噴薄欲出之時，見證雲(yun) 蒸霞蔚之波瀾壯闊，鐫刻敗而後成之至臻榮光。

The time has witnessed and will continue to witness our perseverance. Trustworthy people do not care about the result but the process, and do not see finiteness but infinity. We, BGE, cannot be trapped by temporary ups and downs, and should instead see into the infinity. Let us be as passionate and ambitious as students, and be practical and forward looking. Let us strive through time and strive for a new chapter. When the sun rises and shines, we will be awed by morning glow and enjoy the honor of eventual success.
